New Mapping Lists for interRAI HC CAPs and NANDA-I

Important Changes in Nursing Diagnostics: The Updated Classification Lists Based on the New Edition of the NAN
Recom’s new edition of the NANDA-I nursing diagnoses recently underwent significant changes. Accordingly, the official mapping lists between the interRAI HC CAPs (Clinical Assessment Protocols) and NANDA-I have also been updated and reviewed through a consensus process. These adjustments are essential for accurate nursing diagnosis and needs assessment, as the CAPs are calculated directly from the codes in interRAI HC and play a key role in supporting the diagnostic process. The new lists are being implemented electronically in phases by the software providers. Our tip for practice: Ensure that your needs assessors are familiar with the updated mappings. In our interRAI HC basic courses, we provide hands-on training to licensed nurses (HF/FH) in the proper coding methodology to avoid uncertainties when applying the knowledge in practice from the very beginning.
